Abby grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and Portland, Oregon. In 2023, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her Doctorate in Education at UCLA, where she graduated in the spring of 2026. During her doctoral studies, she served as an Assistant Principal at an elementary school in Historic South Central Los Angeles.

Before relocating to Los Angeles, Abby spent fourteen years working in public education in Portland, including three years as the Director of Equity and Inclusion for a public school district. She also holds a Master’s degree in Teaching and completed her undergraduate studies in Literature and African American Studies at UCSD and in the United Kingdom.

Outside of work, Abby enjoys walks in the sunshine, reading, attending live music events, and both watching and playing sports. With family spread across the country, from New York City to Chicago to San Antonio, she often spends school breaks traveling to visit loved ones or embarking on adventures abroad.

Alexis Redeemer brings 14 years of experience in education to CWC Silver Lake, having served as a teacher, instructional coach, Assistant Principal, and Principal across K-12 settings. She holds a Master of Science in Educational Research from Johns Hopkins School of Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political, Legal, and Economic Analysis from Mills College. She is also a Licensed Trainer in Restorative Practices through the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) and holds certifications in Instructional Design and Educational Finance from Georgetown University.

Ms. Redeemer began her career in the Middle School ELA classroom, and that foundation shapes everything about the way she leads. She believes deeply that every student is capable of achieving at high levels, and she is committed to building a school where rigorous academics, genuine care, and a strong sense of belonging go hand in hand. At CWC Silver Lake, she is focused on strengthening instructional practice, deepening student support systems, and creating the kind of community where students feel known, challenged, and proud of the work they do.

Outside of school, Ms. Redeemer is a self-described data nerd who genuinely enjoys digging into what the numbers reveal about student growth. She is also a devoted dog mom, an enthusiastic traveler always planning the next trip, and someone who can be talked into trying almost any new restaurant. She brings that same curiosity and enthusiasm to CWC Silver Lake every day.
