The learning journey continues into the summer! We are providing suggested activities, resources, and gentle time allotments to keep brains, hearts, and bodies wondering and growing! To find resources for your child/ren, please look for your grade band (e.g. TK-K). If you can do anything, READ READ READ – Summer Reading suggestions below!

Please Note: On tip of the resources linked below, if your child already has subscription on platforms like RAZ kids, Dreambox, Typing Pal, etc., please continue to do work within those platforms. We have provided additional resources below to be used on top of platforms already in use.

Summer Reading
With the hope that your child will do a lot of reading this summer, we have put lists together to make the work easy of finding a wide range of titles at your child’s “just right” level. Explore different genres at various reading levels (A-Z) and grade ranges to find the perfect fit! Happy reading!

There is also a folder of Social Emotional Learning videos to practice gratitude, breathing, and other technique all summer!

Family Book Clubs
Join us this summer for a virtual family reading experience that is designed to help families better understand CWC’s approach to teaching reading comprehension! This is a family book club, not a student-only book club; the idea is that families read a novel to/with their child(ren), and join Zoom book club meetings to talk about the book with other CWC families. Not only will you enjoy reading a book with your child, but you will also gain some insight into how CWC teaches reading comprehension. By participating in mini-lessons and book club talks, families will walk away with new strategies and way of thinking about supporting their children’s reading comprehension.
Each book club will meet 3 times: once a week for the last three weeks of July (week of July 13, week of July 20, week of July 27) for about 45-minutes each. We will have two separate book clubs: one for families with TK-2nd grade student and one for families with 3rd-5th grade students.
